On September 21st, I officially launched my new publishing company, Monster House Books. Some of you might know me from my previous work with Ink Monster… and perhaps wonder why I decided to start a solo venture. To answer this question, Ink Monster CEO Aileen Latcham and I had jointly written the letter below.
Dear Friend,
We wanted to let you know about some exciting changes at Ink Monster that will empower our merry band of crazies to do what they do best… write books with kick-ass heroines.
Ink Monster is restructuring!
Aileen Latcham will continue on as the sole owner of Ink Monster, while Christina Bauer will form a new company, Monster House Books.
Why the change?
In looking at our five-year plans (you know us!) we decided that we have different goals, both creatively and for our business selves. We want to keep working together as consultants when we need each other, but also give ourselves flexibility in new areas.
What does this mean for how we do business?
If you work with us as a partner or vendor, you’ll probably be doing much of the same stuff, only with either Ink Monster or Monster House paying the bills. If you’re a retailer, you’ll still get all the analysis and planning that we’re both well-known for. Monster House officially launches in September 2016.
In conclusion, we both want to thank you for supporting our dream of kick-ass storytelling. We look forward to teaming together in the future.
Christina & Aileen
On a personal note, I wanted to wish Aileen the very best as she continues to grow Ink Monster to new heights while raising the cutest baby in the history of ever. And to all the ladies of Ink Monster, you are phenomenal, end of story.
